When to brew it
Try this when you want a V60-like bloom followed by immersion. Rinse the paper first and leave the switch open when you start.
Why it works
An open-valve bloom drains through the bed, then a closed-valve main pour gives the coffee an even immersion phase.
Step by step
15 g coffee and 250 g water. Weights are the total on the scale. The quoted line is what Pour says out loud at that moment.
- 40 g
Bloom, switch open
With the valve open, pour 40 g quickly to wet all the grounds; rest to 0:30.
Pour says:
With the switch open, bloom to 40 grams.
Close switch
Close the valve at 0:30 before the main pour.
Pour says:
Close the switch now.
- 250 g
Pour to 250
Pour the remaining 210 g in gentle circles, finishing near 0:50.
Pour says:
Pour in circles to 250 grams by 50 seconds.
Infuse
Keep the valve closed until 1:50.
Pour says:
Infuse with the switch closed until 1 minute 50.
Open switch
Open the valve at 1:50 to release the brew.
Pour says:
Open the switch now.
Drain
Let the coffee finish draining by about 2:50.
Pour says:
Let it drain. Aim to finish by 2 minutes 50.
Brewing a different amount? Pour scales every pour to your dose and keeps the 1:16.7 ratio.
